Common questions

  • How do I get my old dive logs into the app?

Two ways. Photograph the pages of your paper logbook — the AI reading picks out date, depth, duration, site and buddy, and you check every value before saving. Or import a file: UDDF, Subsurface XML, SML and CSV are supported. If you dive a Garmin, export from Subsurface. You choose exactly which dives are taken over.

  • My dives are not syncing. What now?

Ocean Pulse logs offline first and syncs when you are back online, so a missing dive is almost always a connection that dropped mid-sync. Open the app with a stable connection and give it a moment. If a dive is still missing after that, email us before you re-enter it — the record is usually still there and we can help you recover it rather than create a duplicate.

  • How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Through your Apple account, because that is where the subscription was bought: open the iOS Settings, tap your name at the top, then "Subscriptions". You can switch the term or cancel there. Cancelling stops future renewals — your logged dives are untouched.

  • Can I export my logbook?

Yes. Pro exports your complete logbook as a formatted PDF — ready for a dive centre, an insurance claim or your own archive. Your dives are never locked in.

  • How do I delete my account and my data?

Write to us from the address on your account — we delete the account and everything in it. Deletion is final, so export your logbook first if you want to keep it. The app also gives you a full account of everything stored for your account, as a file to take with you.

  • Is Dive Readiness a medical clearance?

No, and it is important that this is clear. Dive Readiness is a structured self-check — eleven questions across three steps — meant to make you honest with yourself before you get in the water. It is for personal reflection only and is not a medical assessment. Fitness to dive is decided by a dive physician, not by an app. In an emergency, call your local emergency number or the DAN hotline.

  • Which devices does Ocean Pulse run on?

On iPhone, through the App Store only.

  • I found a bug, or I am missing a feature.

Please tell us — this app grew out of exactly that kind of message. Bug reports are most useful with your device, your iOS version and a screenshot. Feature requests go on a list that genuinely shapes what gets built next.

Data and privacy

No ad trackers, no ad SDKs, no sale of your personal data. Your dives are encrypted on the device and in sync. AI capture stays switched off until you explicitly agree to it.

Diving safely

Ocean Pulse is a logbook and a planning companion. It is not a dive computer, it does not calculate decompression, and it does not replace training, a briefing, a buddy or a dive physician. Always dive within your certification and your limits.

In an emergency

Call your local emergency number first. The app keeps DAN hotlines, the nearest hyperbaric chambers and your personal emergency details available offline — reachable without a signal, on the Health tab.
